TrimGen scientists respond to the demand for KRAS testing

For many years colo-rectal cancer treatment was standard and consistent. The EGFR pathway was targeted by various drugs such as PanitumumabTM and CetuximabTM to treat patients diagnosed with colon cancer. Unfortunately, many of these patients developed cancer via another pathway, the KRAS proto-oncogene, and did not respond to traditional drug therapy. Thus the need for genetic screening prior to treatment arose.

TrimGen has reengineered the KRAS mutation panel to now screen for all mutations on codons 12 and 13 respectively. With 1-2% sensitivity, the Mutector II KRAS panel is unrivaled in effectiveness, ease-of-use and accuracy. We are pleased to unveil the new Mutector II assay and continue to support the changing field of oncology research.
